I never intended to start a jewellery business. I was almost ready to launch a full blown ceramic super store, when I decided to put tools down and pause. After founding a brick and mortar store on Greville Street in Prahran many moons ago (do you remember?), I needed a proper break to retreat inwards and stand still for a bit.
When I decided to make a few special pieces of jewellery, for a few special people, I soon found a space of my very own that felt true to me and where I am placed in life for the moment. I am a mother to two very young humans, and in between snack time, nap time and be-on-call-for-everyone-all-the-time, I get to do this - make slow beaded jewellery, for you & yours.
Creating beautiful beaded jewellery, slowly and with intention, is the kind of mediative creative outlet I have been looking for. I am so happy to have landed here. And thank you for landing here with me too.
My first collection, 'A Soft Landing', is about exactly that. Landing in a new space, slowly, intentionally, and with great care.
This collection celebrates the interplay of natural materials combined with curated colour palettes that make the wonkiest Freshwater Pearl sing. The pieces are designed to be playful and melodic, balanced and easy wearing.
Each piece is created in small batches in my home studio in Fitzroy North, Melbourne. I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land that I live and work, the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation and their ongoing connection to land, waterways and culture. It is a great privilege to be able to work and raise my family on this land.
